Will You Cry Reading My Story About Death Of A Loved One?

November 13, 2006

Why The Death Of A Loved Pet Can Cause More Grief Than A Human Sometimes!

Dear !fname,

This first part was originally written when Chester was still alive, about two hours before we had scheduled to take him to the Vets for being put to sleep!  I write abut "Bonnie" here -- that is her real name. She is known in our business as "Jean Ross.

The images at the link are Chester and Raja, our two dogs for many years.

Chester was 19 years old when we very sadly decided to put him down on September 21, 2002.  I'm writing this story a few hours before his death, and a couple hours after.  It is very personal.

This COULD be a sad story for you, I certainly cried in this event, but we all, each of us, face death in those we love, or in ourselves.

How you face death somehow marks you as a being.

I do not believe it is something to be ignored -- your feelings. It is OK to be sad, but it is also to rejoyce on the new freedom he found.

I have performed several memorial services for humans, and did one for Chester too.
