Hypnotized?

How Many People
Are Walking Around -- Hypnotized?

Hypnotism!  The  Source Of Successful Drug Marketing?

The vast majority in our society are hypnotic.  They accept whatever they are told by a person with "authority." Authority is simply measured by the number of millions of dollars spent to put the image and the message on television.  Today's society is hostage to television and all of those whose sales contain enough profits to finance the billions of dollars spent to convince you of lies being the truth.  So, many in this country, and abroad, believe to be true the lies they hear on TV.  The subscribers to this Newsletter are an extremely tiny minority of people who can and do think for themselves -- and who seek out alternatives to the mush served up on television.

MSM is the obvious cheap thing to try for the pain of arthritis.  Why not?

You, the reader of THIS newsletter, are a very rare person, and you know it.

You cannot have your high degree of awareness without being also aware of how different you are from those around you.

The simple explanation is that they have been hypnotized, and you have not!

When YOU were in school, you were intense and excited about just about everything.  You know how dull most of the others were!  The girl in the picture, on the right, is certainly bright, aware and NOT hypnotized!  Will she make it through the perilous years of attempts to make her dull?  Click here for an earlier article I wrote on the deliberate creation of illiteracy!

Very Well Done! To You for arriving here!

So, you read here the truth about one of the most profitable drugs ever launched onto the market -- the drug for arthritis pain and inflammation -- the drug called Celebrex.

The fact that it is now proving to be a harmful drug?  Well, that news may have only received 40 seconds on one night's worth of television news!  And, it may have been in your local paper with a tiny paragraph somewhere?  How can these tiny news announcements ever compete with the billions spent by the drug industry to hypnotize you into accepting their lies?

ç  Here is the bottle of the deadly drug -- Celebrex -- for relief of the pain of arthritis!

Only the rare few have whatever it takes to subscribe to The Wednesday Letter.

Congratulations!

Learn From The Dog Lesson

Quite a while ago I wrote an article about "opinion leaders." For most people the doctor they know is often their opinion leader.  But, he has his own opinion leader.  People follow the advice of their opinion leaders, often without any independent thought.  Click here to read about how you can learn this truth by watching dogs.

The lesson you will learn, when you read this article, is that young dogs often follow the behavior of older dogs, just as young doctors follow the lead of older doctors.  Often there is no thinking involved at all.

In much the same way a person who is hypnotic follows the orders of those in "authority" and the most authority is the source that has the largest impact on you -- television is often just that source.

Celebrex

The blockbuster arthritis drugs Vioxx and Celebrex have had the most successful product launches in pharmaceutical history. The $3-a-day pills together generate $6 billion in annual sales, spurred by the hope that users may be spared the ulcers that older painkillers can cause.

But new research raises the possibility that the breakthrough drugs could have a worse side effect: an increased risk of heart attack.

When You Were Young

TV Was Not Around!  Yet Most Of The People Over 50 Are Still Hypnotized!

What Will Happen To The Children

Whose ONLY Baby Sitter Is Often TV!

The research poses the first serious threat to these drugs, which have been used by tens of millions of people world-wide since they came out in 1999. Its release follows an unusual behind-the-scenes push by marketers of the two drugs to lobby the prominent cardiologists who wrote the study and the journal that published it. The cardiologists, for their part, now fault the drug companies for failing to address adequately a potentially serious health concern.

[Go]5FDA Hearings on Celebrex, Vioxx Labels Could Be Crucial in Arthritis-Drug Fight (Feb. 7)

Moreover, a study last year purporting to prove Celebrex's milder effects on the stomach than older remedies now appears exaggerated, because investigators for Pharmacia Corp., which is Celebrex's manufacturer and co-marketer with Pfizer Inc., didn't publish half of the study's data. When the full set of data is crunched, Celebrex looks no better at avoiding ulcers than generic pills costing pennies a day. Merck & Co.'s Vioxx, on the other hand, does show a benefit in avoiding gastrointestinal side effects.

Cardiac Events

The cardiac concerns appear in an analysis by the noted cardiologists Eric J. Topol and Steven E. Nissen, chairman and vice chairman, respectively, of cardiovascular medicine at the Cleveland Clinic. Their study of Vioxx and Celebrex concludes, "Current data would suggest that use of these so-called 'COX-2 inhibitors' might lead to increased cardiovascular events."

ç [Check Out The Alert One Here??]

Their conclusions, published in Wednesday's Journal of the American Medical Association, are generally more critical of Merck's Vioxx. The authors say patients taking Vioxx had more than twice as many heart attacks, strokes and other cardiovascular events as patients getting an older, generic arthritis drug, naproxen. They conclude that Celebrex, too, seems to be associated with a relatively high rate of heart attacks.

The authors stress that their work is a new analysis of Merck's and Pharmacia's own raw data and of other past studies and not a new trial, so their conclusions aren't definitive. The marketers of the drugs and some outside experts dispute the conclusions.

Other Drug's Role

The article also says part of the reason Vioxx didn't stack up as well might be that the drug it was compared with, naproxen, could have a heart benefit. It might prevent blood-clotting, in a fashion similar to aspirin.

[Go]6Experts Worry That Side-Effect Fear Could Set Back Cholesterol Battle

The side-effect worries with Vioxx and Celebrex, as well as new problems being associated with popular cholesterol-lowering drugs, result in part from their huge rise in usage. The problems are a reminder that even the safest and most beneficial drugs carry some risks, which are often magnified when a medicine is prescribed for millions of people.

Picture On Left?  Does She Look Dazed?  Does She Accept Anything The Doctor Tells Her?

Drs. Topol and Nissen, who collaborated on the research with cardiologist Debabrata Mukherjee, now of the University of Michigan, say they have tried unsuccessfully to persuade the makers of Vioxx and Celebrex to launch new clinical studies of the possible cardiac risks. "The reluctance to move forward is disturbing," Dr. Topol says. "Either they're moving at glacial speed, or they're waiting to see what the fallout will be from this and other reports. We're staring at a major public-health issue."  [Source -- The Wall Street Journal]

Trial Lawyers -- The Vultures Looking For Rotten Corpses!

If you enter the word "Celebrex" into www.google.com, you get a page you can view -- click here.

The number one page for that listing?  Click here.

This is the number one page on the fastest growing search engine -- when you enter the word "Celebrex."  Obviously this web site did not arrive at the number one position through normal search engine rankings.  No, Google has started to sell the number one position.  If you know about this prostitution of its service, selling its rankings to the highest bidder, you can work with it.  If you don't know about this, you might think that the number one ranked web page is just the best page.  It is not the "best" page, but it is the page where some lawyers have paid for this number one position.  So, you can see that the trial lawyer vultures have scented a dying prey -- the Celebrex drug has been found to be harmful, and the company that makes it stands accused of deliberately hiding the truth from the public. This is a made-to-order formula for the creation of more rich lawyers.

But, vultures DO serve a very useful purpose on the game preserves.  There are dead animals, and their carcasses do rot and stink up the place. The vultures clean this all up.  So, finally, the trial lawyers have found their best use -- it has always been to prey on the weak and dying, but fortunately, the drug industry is increasingly finding itself the victim of the vultures.  It couldn't happen to nicer guys!

I think you are going to see more of this -- greedy lawyers who are willing to attack anything that happens to make the mistake of getting bad publicity.  The hypnotized among us may NOT see these announcements, but the lawyers do see them.

Here is the type of news report that makes trial lawyers salivate:

July 10, 2001 (Washington) -- A woman who developed kidney failure after taking the popular arthritis drug Vioxx [similar to Celebrex]  has raised more questions about the safety of this and similar drugs.   [Source]

Here is another:

GAITHERSBURG, Md. — The makers of the wildly popular arthritis drugs Celebrex and Vioxx may wish they had left well enough alone. Pharmacia failed to convince a Food and Drug Administration advisory committee Wednesday that it should be allowed to market Celebrex as safer on the stomach than other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, or NSAIDs. The FDA usually follows the recommendations of its advisory committees. In addition, the drug company's data ended up raising concerns about possible adverse cardiovascular effects.  [Source]

Here is another:

A fight between some of the world's largest drug makers will tumble into the open Wednesday when a federal advisory panel will examine whether to soften warning labels on the mega-selling arthritis drugs, Celebrex and Vioxx.

ç In The Olden Days Hypnotism Was Done With Mirrors and Pendulums!

Both drugs have labels that warn of ulcer-like side effects, a standard warning carried by an entire class of painkillers known as nonsteroidal anti-inflammatories (NSAIDs). These painkillers include aspirin, Advil and Aleve. But Celebrex and Vioxx were created in hopes that they wouldn't cause these side effects. Huge studies conducted recently by the drugs' makers in part support this contention. This week's panel may help determine whether the labels of Celebrex and Vioxx change to reflect these findings.  [Source]

Sometimes The Pain Is Just Terrible!

When Those Who Offer Help Actually Hurt You --- The Pain Is Far Worse!

Betrayal!  It Is Widespread!

Desire For Relief From Pain Drives Many People.

MSM can solve this problem inexpensively and safely!

How much MSM should you take? And How?

How long should you keep taking any particular dosage?

First how?

MSM in capsule form does not usually raise this question.  Capsules are easy to take -- several into the mouth, a swallow of water or beverage, and you have taken them.  Some people can only take one or two capsules at a time -- others can stuff 20 in their mouth and manage to get them down with one or two swallows of water.
Bulk MSM?  Your choice is really between putting a teaspoon of the stuff into your mouth (it tastes pretty bad) and then taking enough water or juice to wash it down -- or putting that teaspoon full into a glass of something.
The "something" would normally be warm water, first, because MSM dissolves most quickly in warm water.  Once it is dissolved you can then mix in more water, or add any beverage to disguise the taste.
Disguising the taste?  Tomato juice is the strongest disguiser!!  Orange juice, or any juice will help hide the taste of the MSM.
None of these juices will adversely affect the results of the MSM.

Dull People Do Not Read

About MSM!

They Sit In Ice Cream Parlors!

Now, how much MSM?
Well, that's a much more important question.
The MSM you get from Vibrant Life is about the least expensive in the world -- so that means other MSM is more expensive!  You can buy it here.
You'll find that when some vitamin material is relatively expensive that the seller is often tempted to claim that only a small amount is needed.
That is true about MSM.
Most MSM is sold in capsule or tablet form -- those cost much more than bulk.  Because they are most expensive forms of packaging AND because those companies have inherently more expensive stuff, they are tempted to tell you that 3 or 4 capsules is all you need.
Usually that is not true!
Many other brands of MSM will tell you that 1000 mg or perhaps 3000 mg per day is what you should take.
Unfortunately, they don't want to tell you that you might need to take 20,000 mg per day because that would expose the high cost of their product.
Bulk MSM is the way to go if you can handle the taste somehow.
Why?
Because many people WILL need to take 20 grams per day.  That is the same as 20,000 mg per day.
If you take our capsules, that would be 40! capsules per day.  Very few people want to take 40 capsules of anything.
So, if you are taking the capsules, keep in mind that you may need to take a lot of them to get relief from arthritic pain.
If you are taking the bulk, start by recognizing that one heaping teaspoon is about 5 grams (5,000mg).
I suggest you start with one teaspoon per day of the bulk, and if you don't see some dramatic change in the absence of pain within two days, increase the dosage.
Continue increasing the dosage up to 4 heaping teaspoons per day (20 grams).
Most people should achieve very dramatic relief from arthritic pain by the time they reach 20 grams of MSM per day.
You can also use MSM in your bathwater and it will leave your skin getting smoother and smoother -- and even help eliminate minor rashes, infections and skin conditions.
Use about 2 full cups of MSM in a full bathtub for a long soaking (20 minutes) bath -- and don't worry about getting it in your eyes or mouth.  No problem.
You can let the baby or children play in this type of bathwater, even head under the water, eyes open, with no problem.
Let us know of your experiences.

How Long For Any Particular Dosage?

MSM does not "cure" arthritis.  It seems to eliminate the swelling that causes pain, but when you stop taking MSM that swelling will return -- probably in  a few days.

So, whatever level of MSM you find is helpful to you is probably the dosage you will have to continue to take.

You can always give it a try. Cut the dosage for a few days -- see if the pains return.  If they don't you can stay on the lower dosage and reduce it even further.

It is not harmful to take MSM so you don't have to worry about adverse long term effects.

What Are Some Dishonest Stories About MSM?

MSM stands for Methyl Sulfonyl Methane.

It is manufactured from the waste products of the paper industry.  Let me know if you would like a detailed explanation of the manufacturing process.  The waste product has the chemical name:  DMSO.

Despite what anyone may tell you, all MSM is manufactured in the same way.  You take DMSO and boil it.  As it heats up the DMSO absorbs extra oxygen from the air and each molecule of DMSO gets one extra atom of oxygen -- it can then be called DMSO2, or, same thing, MSM.

There are many different types of patents in existence.  The most valuable patent is called a "process patent."

A "process patent" means that the US Patent Office gives you the exclusive rights to use some particular process.  There is no process patent issued for the process of making MSM.

There is another type of patent -- referred to as a "Use Patent."  This type of patent has practically no commercial value.

In the field of MSM there is one person who has obtained many "use patents."

ALL THE PATENTS issued, of any type, for MSM, have been located on my web site for more than two years.

The primary address for these patents is at:

http://www.oralchelation.com/methyl/patent/patent.htm

Another page, different web site, also has all the patents:

http://www.bulkmsm.com/research/patents/patent1.html

To my knowledge no other web site in the world provides actual copies of all these patents.

That page not only has referenced to EVERY patent issued about MSM, but also has a link for that patent on a separate page on my web site, AND another link, for every patent, to the U. S. Patent Office, where you can also view that actual patent.  Thus, anyone can check MY web site, and from there go to the U. S. Patent Office to verify that what I have stated on my page is the truth about these patents.

As you look over these patents, you'll find one, for instance, relates to the use of MSM to stop someone from snoring!

That patent is found on this page:  http://www.oralchelation.com/methyl/patent/patent7.htm

The actual summary language of that patent is as shown below:

A method of pharmaceutically managing snoring is provided by the instillation intranasally of a solution containing 1-20% methylsulfonylmethane by weight dissolved in water so as to saturate the nasal mucous membranes. Preferably, the solution has between 10%-16% by weight methysulfonylmethane. The solution may be buffered, and/or a mild analgesic may be included. The method prefers that instillation occur as close to the sleep event as possible, and it should be at least within one hour before a person retires for sleep. The solution may be introduced by spray or drop-wise, and a product packaging the solution in a suitable container is described.

What a "USE PATENT" allows the inventor is to be the ONLY person who can claim that the product has this use.

The USE PATENT does not give the patent-holder any exclusive rights to manufacture or sell MSM, but this one gives him the exclusive right to make a public claim, such as, "My MSM can help you stop snoring!"

Here is the web address for one of the two manufacturers of MSM in the US, Carolwood:  http://www.msm.com/

On that web site there is a link to "where does MSM come from."  They will probably remove their claims when they realize that I am publicizing them.  This data is terribly misleading.  I quote it exactly below:

The cycle of MSM begins in the ocean where microscopic plants called plankton release sulfur compounds. These salts are transformed in the ocean water into the very volatile compound dimethyl sulfide (DMS) which escapes from the ocean as a gas. DMS rises into the upper atmosphere, and in the presence of ozone and high-energy ultraviolet light, is converted into its cousins, dimethyl sulfide (DMSO) and MSM. Unlike the DMS, both DMSO and MSM are very soluble in water, and they return to earth in the form of rain. On earth, plants take MSM into their root systems and concentrate it. MSM and the sulfur it contains is incorporated into the plants' structure. Through the plants' metabolism, MSM, along with other sulfur compounds it has spawned, is ultimately mineralized and transported back to the sea.

The idea that MSM is manufactured from the waste product of the paper industry seems like a bad image, so Carolwood claims, as you can read above, that MSM and DSMO are somehow found naturally in plants. While that is true, there is no possible way to extract the MSM or DMSO from plants, other than the simple process of producing paper by pouring sulfuric acid on chips of wood.

So, we see that Carolwood is attempting to deceive the public by implying that their MSM is "natural."

Remember that all MSM is made in exactly the same way -- from DMSO -- the waste product of paper-making.

The two US manufacturers have attempted to mislead customers further by using special names for their MSM.  Carolwood uses:

Lignisul -- and simply adds an additive to pure MSM.  The MSM sold by Vibrant Life has no additives.  Because Carolwood adds things to its MSM, it can then justify calling their MSM by the name "Lignisul MSM."

The other US Manufacturer is Cardinal, located at:  http://www.optimsm.com/

They too add stuff to their MSM, so they can imply that is somehow different from other MSM.  They call their MSM by the name of:

OptiMSM brand MSM

"OptiMSM"

Cardinal, also, attempts to hide the paper-industry waste product nature of MSM, publishing this for the origin of MSM:

Where Does MSM Come From?
MSM originates in the oceans where microscopic plankton release sulfur compounds into seawater, which is quickly converted to DMS, a volatile sulfur compound that escapes into the atmosphere. In this suspended, gaseous state, the DMS reacts with ozone and ultraviolet sunlight to create DMSO and DMSO2, known as MSM. MSM then falls to the earth with the rain, where it is collected and concentrated in plants. Although MSM is abundant in nature, even the richest natural sources only provide MSM in the level of several parts per million. Commercial "harvesting" of MSM is not possible. MSM is produced by oxidizing DMSO. This process replicates the exact natural compound.
Wave

You see that this is not an outright lie, but it certainly does HIDE the true origin of MSM.

Cardinal does NOT show the patents for MSM on its web site (neither does Carolwood), but indicates that it has the patents for MSM:

Not All Hypnotism

Is Done By Drug Companies!

Here Is One Of The Largest

Manufacturers Of MSM

Attempting To Hypnotize You!

"Cardinal Nutrition, the sole maker of OptiMSM, is the original United States producer licensed under the R. J. Herschler domestic and foreign patents."  {Claim By Cardinal!}

The truth is that the patents relating to MSM are useless for preventing anyone from making and selling MSM.  However, I am confident that HERE is the true story.

The guy that got these worthless patents couldn't begin to get any money from anyone who was making MSM, or who wanted to make MSM.  So, he went into a collusive agreement to restrict competition.  Cardinal agreed to pay a fee to the patent holder so that they could say that they were the ONLY company that had "the patents for MSM."

For many years they claimed that they were the ONLY company allowed to sell the "patented" MSM.   This was very misleading, but many people feared lawsuits if they sold MSM.  Understand that the patents had nothing to do with making or selling MSM -- but things like stopping snoring.

Cardinal wanted to prevent anyone else from entering the MSM market because they wanted a monopoly, so they could raise the price.

However,  Carolwood was making MSM and therefore Cardinal sued Carolwood. That lawsuit went on for many years.  I talked to several executives of Carolwood, including the son-in-law of the President.  I learned that Carolwood considered the patents worthless, but that they had spent (they claimed) millions of dollars to defend their right to sell MSM.

That lawsuit was settled, I believe, by an illegal conspiracy to restrain trade in MSM -- Cardinal allowed the patent holder to license Carolwood, in addition to Cardinal, so that the two of them could get into a price-fixing agreement, and so that they could fight the growing presence of Vibrant Life's MSM in the US.  This lawsuit was NOT settled until after Vibrant Life MSM became the lowest priced MSM on the web.

Yes, indeed, the MSM sold by Vibrant Life is manufactured in India, and the largest independent testing lab in the world, SGS, tests this MSM.  The other two companies claim that their MSM is tested in independent labs, but they never give the names of those labs, or a copy of the certificate of purity on their web sites:

Vibrant Life has tests conducted by SGS.  You will find a great deal of information about this largest testing lab in the world, at:  http://www.oralchelation.com/methyl/technical/lab2.htm

The actual certificate of purity for Vibrant Life MSM is located at:  http://www.oralchelation.com/methyl/technical/lab6.htm

There is much more I could tell you, but the basic truth here is that Cardinal and Carolwood are frightened to death that Vibrant Life will take away the entire market for MSM.  They are falling into the same bad habits as the drug companies -- telling stories that just aren't true!

They both use lawyers like guerillas making false claims about their "patents" and their purity.

Cardinal, for instance, claims that their MSM is 99.9% pure. What they don't tell you is that the 0.1% "impurity" is only moisture.  The same is true for Vibrant Life MSM.  We have a purity of 99.5% with 0.5% moisture.  I don't think this tiny difference in the amount of moisture should ethically be used to claim that their stuff is superior.

It is not!

If you receive any claims from someone that "their" MSM is the only "legal" MSM in the US, you can send them this letter and let them know that Karl Loren calls them liars!

The Ads Are Misleading -- All Of Them!!

[Go]1 FDA Scrambles to Police Truthfulness of Drug Ads (Jan. 2)

[Go]2 FDA Warns Pfizer, Pharmacia Celebrex Ads Are Misleading (Dec. 12, 2000)

Last week, the Food and Drug Administration sent a critical letter to eight makers of drugs used for treatment of HIV, the virus that causes AIDS. [This, of course, is another FDA lie -- that a virus "causes" AIDS.  Click here for the truth!]  That letter singled out the strapping subjects used in many ads -- the "robust individuals engaged in strenuous physical activity" and other "healthy-looking individuals." The FDA told companies they had until May 18 to identify which promotional materials will be revised, and that changes needed to be made within 90 days.

The Ads Are Misleading -- All Of Them!! [HIV drug ads]
HIV-drug ads like these are drawing fire for seeming to overstate the drugs' efficacy.

The letter didn't single out specific ads but was addressed to the companies making HIV drugs. It came after a public controversy, centered in San Francisco, about whether such images were affecting gay men's decisions about practicing safe sex. "Advertising is more than just words, and the FDA is focusing on the fact that the power of advertising comes from the images, the audio and the use of music," says Michael Shaw, executive director of EthicAd, an Atlanta nonprofit organization developing standards for so-called direct-to-consumer drug ads. Such ads, targeted at patients, not their doctors, have increased rapidly in recent years, despite persistent criticisms that they are costly and misleading.

"The advertisers have been pressing the boundaries, shall we say, in terms of how far they can take it on the visuals, thinking the FDA would focus more on the content, the substance, the written word," Dr. Shaw says. For example, a recent television ad for Celebrex, the arthritis drug co-marketed by Pharmacia, Peapack, N.J., and Pfizer, New York, was cited by the FDA as "misleading because the totality of the images, the music and the audio statements ... overstate the efficacy." The co-marketers of Celebrex modified the ad in light of the FDA's concerns.

The Plug-In Drug

Watching television is a passive experience. The viewer simply sits on the couch and stares at the screen. There is little thought and little physical movement (besides clicking the channel change remote). When discussions of how television affects children arise, it often centers around what is being watched. The effect televised violence and sex has on a child has been documented by many research teams through the years. However, what is being watched is not nearly as important as the simple act of watching. Whether a child is watching Sesame Street, Nickelodeon, or ABC News, the process is the same. "Again and again parents describe . . . the trancelike nature of their children's television watching. The child's facial expression is transformed. The jaw is relaxed and hangs open slightly; the tongue rests on the front teeth. The eyes have a glazed, vacuous look. . . . There is certainly little indication that the child is active and alert mentally," states Marie Winn in the book, The Plug-In Drug.
