The Downward Spiral Of
Medical Corruption!

The Impulse Was To Help!
The Impulse Is Now To Drug!

by Karl Loren

Of all the people on this planet, surely those who pledge to help their fellow man, particularly the sick, should be seen as our heroes -- and indeed nurses and doctors have been our heroes down through the ages.

In this age their impulse to help has been corrupted! Here is that story in both small detail and large scope.

In times past, mother, and more often grandmother, was the primary source of healing help. The main treatments, then, were from the garden and the Bible! What has taken their place? Chemical test tubes and psychiatry!

You might wonder why I bring the psychs into this! Of all the various purposes of psychiatry, the most fundamental is that man must adapt to his environment. On the surface this may seem a reasonable philosophy. That is what makes it so insidious. The truth is that man MUST adapt his environment to his own needs, and whenever man becomes the effect of nature, eventually he loses.

Animals may have to adapt to live in their environment. Some men may also adapt to their environment, but if ALL men adapted, there would be no history or future. Some men adapt the environment to the needs of man.

These are the people who forge the forward path to survival.

Psychiatry teaches us to accommodate -- and the tool is a drug. Two of the primary diseases of psychiatry are hypertension and depression -- both treated with drugs, even though the actual causes are never addressed with those drugs.

The psychs have now reached their influence into all medical practices since more antihypertensive drugs and antidepressant drugs are prescribed by family physicians than psychiatrists. These are drugs that hide the symptoms, or help us cope without addressing the cause. THIS is the psychiatric philosophy!

Whatever a drug may do physiologically, it ALWAYS destroys life, or helps us hide from realty, it never cures. Sometimes it is necessary to destroy some cellular life, so the whole body can heal itself, but it is never helpful to hide from reality.

It is a long and rather winding path in logic from the man-must-adapt-to-his-environment philosophy to the widespread use of drugs, but you see this adapt-philosophy permeating much of our society. In medicine it takes the form of management-rather-than-cure. Modern medicine sets its goals to make the patient comfortable and to manage the disease so as to prolong life -- and incidentally the insurance payments.

My Daughter’s Insurance Story

My daughter, Maia, is a busy mother with three young children. She told me of an event at her doctor’s office and I’d like to retell it.

Some time ago she looked into health insurance for her family. She found that a policy that seemed to provide good coverage would cost her $4,800 per year to insure the family of five. The policy required a $250 deductible for each of the family members, meaning that the first $250 of health care costs, for each person, each year, would NOT be paid by the insurance. Then, the insurance would pay 80% of any further costs, including very large prospective payments for catastrophic problems.

For the first few years of their marriage, my daughter and son-in-law didn’t have enough money to buy health insurance, but they did spend money on vitamins and other prevention actions. By the time they could afford the insurance Maia realized that she had never come close to the $250 deductible in any year for any of the family. In those several years she would have paid $4,800 per year so that someone with less interest in prevention could run up large hospital bills -- paid for from Maia’s insurance premium.

You understand that health insurance is ALWAYS a losing proposition for the healthy in society, and actually encourages the sick to get sicker because insurance is nothing more than a reward for failure, and a penalty for winners.

My daughter decided to continue through life without health insurance.

But, she was quite willing to take a kid to the doctor if she had a worry. Many people who avoid health insurance also avoid doctors and lend to the statistics that claim that those without health insurance are sicker than those who have it.

She wouldn’t take a kid just because of a runny nose, but a fever AND a runny nose might be enough for a doctor’s visit. That happened recently; the event was instructive to me.

She took her two-year old son into the doctor. After a brief but apparently thorough exam, he wrote out a prescription and told her "don’t worry, just give him this."

Says she: "What is it?"

Now, you should have a trait that my daughter has. When she asks a question she hangs on until she gets an answer. The doctor actually mumbled the first time. She repeated the question, politely. He mumbled again. Perhaps this has happened to you? She repeated the question. He finally said: "Oh, don’t worry, he’s fine, this prescription won’t hurt anything. In fact, if he doesn’t get worse, you don’t even have to give it to him."

Now, that may seem like an answer to some, but not to my daughter. She asked again what the prescription was for. You see, she tried to read it and there was nothing on that paper that was legible to her.

The doctor FINALLY said, "Well, if I don’t write a prescription your insurance won’t pay!" Apparently he didn’t know that she didn’t have health insurance.

She discovered that the doctor HAS to find something wrong with the patient in order forthe insurance to pay. She discovered that the fees charged by the doctor have a great deal to do with how serious he describes the "illness." Since every illness is moving in the direction of having a book-approved drug to manage the condition, the more powerful the drug he prescribes, the more serious the disease must have been, and the larger the insurance payment.

Somewhere, deep inside, this doctor may still have an impulse to help. He feels, personally, some affection for his patients and wants to help. But he has bought into a corrupt system that forces him to dance to the tune of the government and insurance company rules for payments.

How would you like to go to a doctor whose income depended on his ability to find serious things wrong with you! How would you like to go to a doctor who can earn more money by managing your disease than curing it!

Welcome to modern medicine!

What about a welfare-mother, with six sick kids who qualify for 100% insurance coverage, going to the doctor? The doctor sees her as an endless stream of earnings, because none of the drugs will cure, and because that type of patient invariably continues to practice such an unhealthy life style that she and her children will always be sick.

Doctors have come a long way since those early days. They were our hero healers on a pedestal. They fell off that pedestal; all the government’s men can not put Humpty Dumpty together again! Doctors now are more often our villains than our heroes!

The Psych Influence

Psychiatrists have a bankrupt philosophy. The word "psyche" meant "soul" or "spirit" in Greek days. The psychiatrist hasn’t the slightest clue as to what the spirit is, and for more than 100 years has given up any study of spiritual influence on the body. Psychiatrists are the first of medical doctors to give up trying to help! They, many decades ago, may have been trying to help, but having failed for so many years, they dropped to the next lower philosophical level of: causing any effect is better than causing no effect.

Modern psychiatry uses the most brutal drugs, shock and lobotomy because lesser means often cause no effects on behavior at all. They, you see, are not treating the meat body, which responds quickly to poison, but the mind that they don’t understand at all. So, they have to use drugs strong enough to cause some form of change in behavior. They have certainly found those drugs, including one of the worst, Prozac.

The drug Prozac is one of the mostly commonly used in high-promotion "research projects." This drug is "approved" as being useful for so many different "diseases" that the doctor could diagnose almost any patient to be suitable for a Prozac research project.

The family physician is not far behind the psych! In times past the doctor wanted to cause a good effect, and often did. Except for the discovery of the importance of sanitation, and the discovery of antibiotics, medicine has hardly made any headway against causes of death. As he failed more and more often, the family doctor gave up the "good" part of his purpose, and settled for causing ANY effect. That’s where modern medicine is today -- dramatizing a strong need to cause any effect, good or bad, and blinding itself to the difference.

Causing no effect means no insurance payment at all!

There is one sure way to cause an effect and that is to use a drug -- and if the drug won’t cause sufficient effect, then use a more powerful drug. That is the direction modern medicine is going, has gone.

My daughter gave me this insight from her visit to that doctor when he told her insurance wouldn’t pay unless he finds a sickness, and sickness can’t be verified except through issuance of an approved drug prescription. The stronger the drug, the more serious must have been the disease, and therefore the higher can be the fee and the more second and third visits can be justified.

No-drug or any non-approved drug threatens the doctor with no-fee, or even malpractice! He has to use the book of standard treatments.

Dr. Murderer!

A woman wrote me just a few weeks after my Book, Life Flow One, The Solution For Heart Disease, was published. She had purchased an early copy, but too late for her mother. Her mother had died just a few days before the woman read my book.

My book might have saved her mother’s life.

The doctor in this story comes close to deserving a criminal indictment -- but doctors won’t testify against other doctors so there is no self-policing within that "profession." Ask YOUR doctor if he would testify against another.

This woman wrote, tearfully, that her mother had been doing rather well, at 81, but suffered from edema. That’s usually understood as a puffy or swollen area, often of the ankles or legs, which traditionally indicates too much fluid in that area.

Modern medicine treats edema with a diuretic. If there is too much fluid, take a drug and then pee the "excess" water out! When you understand the body’s need for water, covered in my Book, you’ll see that edema is a sign that the body is dehydrated and is hanging on to whatever water is available. The cure for edema is usually to drink more water, not pee it out. The woman in this story read that in my Book, just a short while after her mother died.

A lack of water can cause hypertension, or even depression. When a doctor "treats" hypertension with an antihypertensive drug, instead of finding the true cause, he is guilty of malpractice, in my book. The drugs mentioned in the story below, Lasix and Capoten, are both psych-oriented diuretic antihypertensive drugs.

She wrote to me:

I recently received your excellent Life Flow book. Sadly, it came too late to help my mother. She died September 26th.

I am quite sure that her prescription "drugs" killed her. I thought I had her convinced never to take another pill and to drink lots of water. She was so dehydrated that the skin on the back of her hand remained standing up after being pinched.

Her murderer/doctor told her she had edema, he prescribed 40 mg of Lasix per day and later, told her to take 2 tablets per day. He also told her to take 12.5 mg of Capoten, 3X a day! She apparently didn’t think she was getting well quickly enough so she started taking the Lasix again, as directed -- her blood pressure fell to 88 over 50 for a couple of days. The doctor told her to cease all medication and wanted to hospitalize her but she refused.

Within 6 days of stopping the pills she was dead.

She only had one kidney and I don’t think she could get rid of the poison from the drugs quick enough.

Her death, of course, is listed as "natural." I wonder if there really is such a thing anymore.

Just last year, my 35-year-old cousin died of an asthma attack, of all things. He, of course, was on lots of medication.

By the way, my mother was 81 years old but I’m sure she had another 10 years at least.

You have no idea how sick this makes me.

I would like to order another copy of your book, Life Flow One, The Solution For Heart Disease, to donate to our library in my mother’s memory.

People suffer from the madness of doctors in the privacy of their funeral homes, while doctors try to escape the guilt of their sins by playing golf! Psychiatrists have one of the highest suicide rates of any group. Long ago they realized, deep in their hearts, that they had no help to offer. The regular medical doctor is fast moving in that same direction. He, like the psychiatrist, is desperately trying to cause an effect, any effect, and now with government and insurance encouragement, he prescribes book-approved drugs so as to escape any pangs of conscience for a wrong personal judgment.

He doesn’t have to be personally responsible if he gives the government-approved drug for the symptoms he sees. And, who can come along later, when the patient is dead, and prove that his observation of those symptoms was incorrect?

The doctor HAD to find something wrong -- something that could be treated with a drug out of the approved treatment bible, or insurance wouldn’t pay. How could that doctor earn a penny telling this old woman to go home and follow her daughter’s advice -- drink more water?

The doctor lost a profitable patient, but he can blame it on the patient for lack of patient compliance. That’s another term you will hear the doctors talking about, among themselves. They all "know" that the real problems with patients is that the patients won’t follow the doctor’s orders -- that’s why psychiatrists thought they had it so good when they got the power to lock up THEIR patients, and inject them with drugs against their wills.

Even family physicians sometimes resort to committing a patient to a psychiatric ward just so they can get them locked up and ensure patient compliance with the drug injections. Psychiatrists have the power to intervene in your life. They have the power to get the police to take you to a hospital where you will be tied down while your body is injected with drugs, against your will. Family physicians haven’t been able to get that power openly, but they are achieving it through the role which government and insurance companies are now playing in the standards of health treatment.

Long ago doctors may have had a noble purpose, but in the past fifty years or so they have become mere prostitutes, accepting money and performing as requested. Since the patient so seldom pays, the prostitutes do the bidding of the man with the money.

Do you want to test YOUR doctor? Take a copy of this Viewpoint to him and ask him to read it. Be like my daughter, insist that he give you an opinion.

He probably won’t like this issue! Then compare! Give this to your friends and neighbors. Find out how many of them would agree with these statements and opinions!

About the only good news is that more and more people are getting so fed up with doctors that their hero-days are long gone, and they are taking their position right near lawyers and IRS agents, at the bottom of the social standing ladder!

Edema: the presence of abnormally large amounts of fluid in the intercellular tissue spaces of the body, usually applied to demonstrable accumulation of excessive fluid in the subcutaneous tissues. Edema may be localized, due to venous or lymphatic obstruction or to increased vascular permeability, or it may be systemic due to heart failure or renal disease. Collections of edema fluid are designated according to the site. Return To Source.

Diuretic: coming from the Greek meaning to promote urine. An agent that promotes the excretion of urine. Return To Source.

Lasix: Made by Hoechst-Roussel Pharmaceuticals of Somerville, N.J. They also make Altace, a drug for hypertension that can kill. Their product, Diabeta, used along with diet to lower the sugar level in the blood for non-insulin-dependent diabetics, shows increased risk of death from heart disease. Lasix is recommended in cases of Edema. It is also an antihypertensive drug. The Physicians’ Desk Reference (PDR) includes the warning that excessive diuresis may cause dehydration and blood volume reduction with circulatory collapse and possibly vascular thrombosis and embolism, particularly in elderly patients. Return To Source.

Capoten: This drug is made by E. R. Squibb, also in New Jersey. This is also an antihypertensive drug. Among the adverse reactions listed in the PDR are chest pain and palpitations, angina pectoris and myocardial infarction. According to the manufacturer, the dosage must be individualized. Also, the patient’s previous antihypertensive drug should have been discontinued for at least one week before starting Capoten. Is it possible that this old lady died because the doctor forgot that she was already taking one drug when he prescribed the second? Return To Source.
