Dear Karl,
You are so incredibly right-on concerning psychiatry and psychotropic drugs. This is a field and a subject which in the future will be relegated to the dark arts of necromancy and sorcery.
Psychiatry is not a science and psychiatrists are wannabe medical doctors who aren’t able to practice medicine ethically or successfully. Over the years I have had numerous bouts of severe bleeding ulcers which were treated through endoscopic surgery as soon as they occurred.
Because these ulcers appeared spontaneously and without warning, I was constantly in fear of my life. This fear produced extreme anxiety, for which I exposed myself to the ‘mainstream’ solution – psychotropic drugs and payments to psychiatrists who could care less whether I improved or not.
These psychiatrists were, by and large, unethical, uncaring and not scientific in their approach to medicine or to the art of healing. I became a guinea pig, upon which harsh and toxic drugs were being tested, willy-nilly. If a drug did not produce an expected result, they either increased the dosage! or moved me on to a new drug.
It took me a few years in my anxiety-ridden state to see the pattern. Karl, contrary to all medical advice, I went off psychiatrists and psychotropic drugs ‘cold turkey’.
Once I got out of their grasp, I began to get healthier almost immediately.
Recently, the FDA has banned certain psychotropic drugs for use with children. I believe at some point in the future, these drugs will be found so dangerous and ineffective that they will be banned for use by adults also.
At that point, these unethical psychiatrists who depend on the pharmaceutical companies to maintain their life-style and their standard of living will be unable to prey on people like me.
By the way, the insurance company that was paying for all these bills maintains a hot line in which they asked to be notified of unethical practices and such, purportedly to protect their members and to keep health insurance costs down.
When I submitted a lengthy response to the hot line detailing specific charges, they never responded back or acknowledged receipt.

May I publish your entire message? As you know I not only criticize psychs but refuse to sell any of my products to anyone taking a psych drug until the person has "turned in the pusher."
Well done! Your message needs to be broadcast -- I get 15,000 daily visitors, but not all come to my pages about psychiatry. Even so, you can tell your friends to look at the page when I get it published.

You are faster than the speed of light. Of course you may publish those words because I absolutely believe in them. Using the same criteria the FDA uses to approve a drug, procedure or device by evaluating its ‘safety and effectiveness’, I think psychiatry will eventually kill itself by virtue of its ineffectiveness and its danger to human health. But it doesn’t hurt to get the message out there until this happens.
