Dear Mr. Loren:As you know I have been a subscriber to your newsletter now for probably 2 years. I wonder if you are aware how many of us are torn between the information you provide and the information we are getting from doctors. You may remember I wrote before telling you that my husband stopped taking MSM and the Life Glow Plus as he felt there was no 'difference' in the way he felt. I want to finish the Life Glow Plus and want to know if the shelf life is ok. It was purchased approx. 4/10/01, lot no.101001. Sometimes when I take a product that has a 'lot of things' in it I get terrific heartburn. But I am also wanting to take the product if it still has some potency in it.However, this is not the primary reason I am writing. It is about the heart surgery thing that I'm writing and which we recently experienced. We both have read the pros and cons of what doctors say, some doctors such as Williams, Douglass and a few others say pretty much what you say.My husband was in his regular appointment to have laser surgery on his eyes. He has had diabetes for many years. [of course would not do your raw diet at all. I found it somewhat difficult myself].Shortly after the dilation dye was put in his eyes, he started to not feel good. He was perspiring, his face was white. He felt nauseous, and had an immediate bowl movement. He did not at that time tell me he felt some pressure on his chest. His scale of discomfort about a 4-5 on a scale of 10 [10 being the worst].We needed to go past the emergency at a military medical hospital to get to our car and I asked him if he wanted to get checked out. He initially said he wanted to go home and rest. I left him there for a short time. When I came back he said he thought he should get checked out.Within minutes he was diagnosed as having a MASSIVE heart attack. The hospitals top cardiologist was still there, closing time for him was imminent and he would have gone home.We were informed that he needed surgery now. The release was signed, we were informed of the odds of the angiogram damage [about 1-400 for something bad to happen] and then he was whisked out of the room.He had a shunt put in the main clogged artery. The other two arteries were not in such great shape either. He was put on a balloon pump which helped his heart pump and also received oxygen. He had to lay on his back for 24 hours. The pump is scheduled to come out tomorrow 11/20/02, to see if the heart is strong enough to pump on its own. The possibility of it not being able to pump is scary. What is even stranger is that a cardiogram was taken in July and there was no indication of a blocked artery. He had an echocardiogram which was evidently normal. The tech at the same facility, said his heart was as strong as a 50 year old person.[My husband is 71]. He had two previous electrocardiograms approximately 6 months apart, which were also evidently normal. Now it appears that his arteries clogged within 4 months or so. Not too much change in his diet. He has been complaining of his legs 'not working properly' and he fell [stumbled] a lot.We keep thinking that we were blessed the cardiologist was still there. But there are the niggling thoughts as described in your newsletters that are frightening. We had no time to discuss alternatives, diet, or walk out of there--to do what? There are so many of us in this particular dilemma. We have to believe either one or the other and be strong about it. I am feeling guilt for not going along with the doctor about increasing his Bp medicine. My husband's Bp at the emergency was 90/70 I would hate to think what it would be if he had additional medication to lower his Bp!It took me over a month to get over the doctor berating us. And now I am sure he is going to do this even more. Going to doctors is stressing us big time and so is the current situation. I am sleeping with the phone by my bed, awaiting the results of tomorrow morning and dreading it.Here is the strange analogy. My husband ate whatever he wanted, drank and smoked. He was active when younger not so much when he got older. Skinny as a bean pole when younger. There was a history of diabetes in his family.I, on the other hand, dieted my brains out. Didn't smoke. Drank moderately. Took hormones. No family history of diabetes that I know of. Active when younger, not so when older. Skinny when younger. Now we are in the same state of not so great health. A crap shoot no less.P
Dear P,I know there is a stark contrast between what I am saying and what the usual doctor says. That is why I go to such extraordinary lengths to document my material with references and studies. I don't think anyone can find any errors in what I say, but I find glaring errors in traditional health care publications all the time. Here is a good example. The truth about shelf life is the truth. Most people have been scared by false claims from doctors. When the date on shelf life has passed? Doesn't mean that it is harmful. It means, as you say, that the potency is reduced.I've covered this here:I have these 20,000 pages of vital data. I understand people don't take the time to read, but they also die and get sick from standard treatments. How long did he take the Life Glow? I'd like to pursue this comment of "he didn't feel any different." I do expect Life Glow Plus to work 100% of the time. It may not, but there would then be some reason and I want to understand any such reasons better.I see that you bought only one bottle about 18 months ago. That should make some change, but it certainly was not enough to avoid the heart attack. Also, did he take the full 20 caps per day??So, I would appreciate your reply on that point.I don't think it is possible for the arteries to get clogged in four months. If you think that newsletter is scary, see the one scheduled to come out next Tuesday, below.Regards,
Karl Loren

Dear Mr. Loren:Thanks for your reply. I meant to add at the end of that long letter that I appreciate your work and hope that you will keep up the good work. We need to know all this information so we can make informed decisions. We need to know ahead of time before old age starts making a difference.First of all it is difficult for me to get my husband to takepills. He had spent most of his life being very active, never being in the hospital or sick and so, therefore, has assumed he could continue this way.He has started to read the literature since I bring it to his attention. To add to all of this he has ADD and his attention span is very short. He will only read two to three pages. Also since his eye surgery did not take too well because of his diabetes his reading distance is not too good.I will be ordering some 4x glasses for him to see if this helps. We only ordered the one bottle of Life Glow and 1 pkg of MSM. When I noticed that the number of pills was NOT going down I realized he was not taking them. Since I didn't want to be a fishwife, I didn't press the matter. And I am certain he didn't get to the 20 pills. He probably was taking about 8. He didn't mention any undue effects. When I say he wants immediate results--it is like taking an aspirin and the headache goes away. That kind of hurry up thing. Maybe its a man thing? This is not to cast any aspersion on your product. I am sure it does what you say it does.I am going to try to finish up the two products. Since losing my job, it is difficult financially to purchase these two products. However, I am anticipating a little income from another source and these are the two products I want to get. After all I don't know what shape my arteries are in since I don't want to do an angiogram, nor a stress test to find out. Both scare the heck out of me.I also need to find out what some of the contraindications are for Lamisil. He was taking it for two months for severe toe nail fungus infection. I know there is a class action suit on Lamisil, but can't find the ad to contact the law firm for information. I know that it is a very potent drug that may affect the liver. We had been running blood tests to find out if liver is ok. Kaiser hospital would not prescribe Lamisil. But VA did in spite of the fact I mentioned the lawsuit on Lamisil. However, getting military hospital benefits, one gets a doctor's appointment every 3 -4 months. The time allotted in the doctor's office is 20 minutes, although my husbands has been increased to 40 minutes. Unheard of in the medical field! However, the doctor spends part of this time complaining about the time we are taking up!!!!! Part of this time is that he wasn't very good in bringing up many of the medical screens on the computer. At least it was this way in the beginning, he may be a little better now.I had mentioned on many occasions, that my husband got tired when he walked and that he was stumbling a lot. So don't know if this was a clue for the doctor. At any rate it is 9:30 am Hawaii time. The doctors do rounds at about 8 am --so don't know if they have removed the pump. Please keep up the good work. Thank you for listening. We need to know. I read your latest newsletter. It is all so frightening. I also read your letter about your mother and what happened. I think of that often. Life hangs on by a thread!ThanksP
DearThanks for the further report.
It helps me understand my customers better.
I am planning to organize a "follow up" unit in my business -- a person who can call every customer to see how they are doing -- and to check up on usages and results.
If we had had that it might have saved your husband the heart attack.
Cordially,
Karl Loren
Dear Mr. Loren:Thanks for responding. Your follow up program sounds wonderful. I also think that if I had got on this newsletter earlier I might have been able to convince him of taking the products. It is so difficult to make people do things. However, I have been taking all sorts of vitamins etc. for years. Have absolutely no idea if it has helped.Obviously being 50 lbs overweight has not helped. Thirty of it came on after hormone shots twice a week. It took me that long to figure out that after a hormone shot, I could eat the whole refrigerator and I had always been moderate in my eating. My girlfriend gained 22 lbs. We were the only two fat people in the waiting room. The rest were oriental women who seemed not to gain weight. This was a mill for hormone and vitamin B-12 shots.I felt so well I thought I could leap over tall buildings. But the weight was fast coming on. I then had to spend the next 20 years suffering from hot flashes because I couldn't take the hormones. LOTS of doctor's visits!!!!I was also told that the 'apron of fat' on my stomach would disappear after I got off of hormones. It hasn't.My husband [his name is xxx] has to spend another 24 hours on the 'pump'. He is flat on his back. He is being given extra oxygen. He was 'fighting' that mask. A rigid plastic thing that covers his nose down to his chin, so they had to restrain him. When they described it on the phone, I though he had gotten a little rabid. He has lost track of time and was dozing when I left.He is getting excellent care. Someone is in the room with him all the time. The station can hear the monitor and he has a panic bulb to press.Isn't it ironic that we are not able to be surrounded by this kind of staff during health and youth--as we work our way through life. We could then take care of 'things' as they happen.Lots of luck in your follow up program. You are truly an important man in our lives.p
Dear,
More interesting insights into him, you and others.
Thanks.
Write again.
Cordially,
Karl Loren
