When I had MY stroke my peculiar view of such things and my plans for the future, jumped ahead considerably to what I knew would be true even if I did not yet have the deatils of how to get there logically, or how to convince others.

In this fashion I knew within the first few minutes of watching my fingers refuse to obey my mental command to move -- I knew that I needed to do exercises to improve that mind-muscle control.

I immedieately purchsed a typing program so that I could start practicing typing. I started immediately in playing scales on my piano -- since my scales are played with different keys and different rythmys in each hand.

I also knew that I wanted to increase the regularity of my general Kung Fu and stretching exercises.

Today, January 9th, I started to exercise JUST my fingers, using a five pound weight in each hand, extending my arms straight out while lying flat on my back. I would lie on the ground, feet up on my exercise ball, and do crunches while, at the same time lift the weights with my fingers only -- and lift those weights FROM the extended arms. This means that the weight of five pounds in each hand is exagerated upwards because the weight is at the end of a "lever" of my extenced arm.

However, the weight for the fingers to lift is simply the five pound. Here is that image: That is me lying on my back, my wife is taking the picture from at my head concentrating on the dumbbells and hands:

More images from the same exercise period are below: This next one showes me on the floor in the garage where I do my exercises, on my back, feet on the exercise ball, arms extended to the sides with dumbbells in my hands.

My dog loves it when I play with him on the floor -- here he and I are rolling around on the floor.

After a bit of rolling around with Karl, Scotty, the dog, decides that he'll just watch from a safe distance.
