There is a new Book about MSM that seems quite worth reading!
The book is entitled "The Miracle of MSM -- The Natural Solution
for Pain," by Stanley W. Jacob, MD, Ronald M. Lawrence, MD, PhD, and
Martin Zucker, copyright 1999, published by G. P. Putnam's Sons, New
York.
The ISBN is 0-399-14474-9. Published price was originally $19.95, 272
pages. That was the price on the jacket cover of the advance copy I
received. By the time it reached Amazon.com the price had been
increased to $22.95. It is possible that the jacket is being
reprinted to change the publication price.
The discounted price at Amazon.com is $16.07. There is
nothing else like this available. The information is well-worth the
cost.

I got a copy of this book quite a bit earlier than the general public, partly
so that I could write a review based on my own extensive knowledge and
experience with MSM.
I have read this book. It is great! It is an excellent
balance between testimonials and technical -- written by the two men who are the
most basic on the chain of research and application of this remarkable
substance.

More and more health-oriented books
are following the model by one of this book's authors, Martin Zucker. He is the
successful author of two other health-oriented books. This Book is a blend of
testimonials by real people followed by a medical doctor's technical explanation
of how the body uses this substance as described in the testimonial.
Authors Jacob and Lawrence, between them, have more than 40 years of clinical
experience using MSM with patients. Jacob holds many patents on this substance.
There could be no better combination than these three authors to bring this
organic sulfur substance to the public's attention.
I have used MSM, personally, for many years, as have many others I know. In
some instances pain relief comes within minutes! If this hadn't happened with so
many of my friends I could put it down to a fluke. But, MSM is no fluke!
From my own experience there is much more that MSM can do for you than is
even written in this Book, but it appears to me that the authors are bending
over backwards to avoid claims that are too dramatic.
As the authors point out, MSM is less toxic than water and, when you look for
it, you'll find it is also far less expensive than many nutrients which do far
less good.
The writing style is good, the data is expert and the subject is important.

Excellent and exciting
A ubiquitous natural substance available without a prescription. Well
documented and well written. The only book on M.S.M. Helps with arthritis,
allergies and many more conditions. Safe to use. The book is very comprehensive,
worth the price.

As an author on
health subjects, and a researcher about MSM, I knew that my view of any book on
MSM would be keen, indeed.
In this area we
often have nothing more to go on than testimonials, and they may well be true
and valid. But, by themselves, they just don't carry the
day.
And, the scientific
stuff is often of too little interest.
So, before I had
read the book I was rather expecting too much technical -- only looking at the
two doctors as authors.
Then, when I glanced
through the book I found, at first, only testimonials, and thought that this,
too, was not enough.
So, I was very
pleasantly surprised when I found the "blend."
Now that I have your
ear, or eye, let me ask you a question.
I found no where in
the book that you covered what I consider one of the primary actions of MSM. I
alluded to that in my review.
I refer to its role
in cell detoxification.
My experience has
been that when a person takes MSM in modestly large doses -- 5 to 6 grams per
day -- they will often have what appears to be a "skin rash" but is
actually toxins escaping the body through the skin. I view this role as one of
the most important for MSM. Since I take many capsules and tablets, etc., when
I add something new I always look for what changes. When I added MSM,
personally, I went through many months of very dramatic skin "rash."
Since I was sure I knew what it was, I never decreased the dosage. I'm sure
that with a lower dosage the detoxification would be much less noticeable.
If a person is not
expecting this, and it happens, then he or she might be very worried, quit using
it, or whatever.
I would be delighted
to know whether you had heard of such activity.
