False Claim By Seasilver: "Capsules and Tablets Aren't Absorbed, Are Wasted!"
THIS IS FALSE!
The above link reveals one Dr. David R. Friedman as even more of a fraud than I thought in my earlier writings. Don't miss the link above for his emotional complaint about my publishing the truth about Seasilver.

Dear Karl...Just wanted to let you know how much I enjoy receiving you Wed.news letter.
I also know that you do certain investigation on some of these outfits that are nothing more than a scam..I have been spammed many times by a company called Seasilver..
The claims they make are really out of this world but the idea does make a certain amount of sense, except that it sounds to good to be true..
Do you have any info on them or there product?? Thank you..
Charles
Dear Charles,
Karl:
Have you done any research on *Seasilver* ?
Thanks,
Herman Smith/Hawaii

Dear Herman,
Sea Silver is a fraud.
The link you gave me? I've reproduced that page below.
Karl Loren
After
I responded as above, I decided that I get a fair
number of queries on "Seasilver" so I might as well do
more research.
First I figured it must be an MLM. Normally when I get a few dozen queries on something I've not heard of I realize that people are taking advantage of the fact that I am about the only guy in the world who promises to answer, personally, every personal eMail message. I do. But, I do get annoyed at some.
I've done my research. This thing is a MLM deal.
Even without looking I know that it is extremely high priced for very little value, and that there will be outlandish claims that are not scientific. Then people read these crazy claims and try to get the truth of the matter. They certainly won't get an unbiased response from the hundreds of web sites where fools are swallowing the company lies and telling you to buy from them.
So, they write to me. I, at least, know how to research these things.
Not only is it an MLM, but there are rankings in the search engine I use, www.google.com, that are paid for. You can pay to get a top rank in Google. I never use those links for any serious research. When I see several of these paid listings I know that there is another hot item where some feeding frenzy will last for a while, and everyone involved will move on to the next hot item -- chasing rainbows where there is no pot of gold.

I find what I expect to find. There are many web sites. The parent company puts those up for you, at a fee, and makes you think you will make millions of dollars on the internet boom. That is foolish!
But, the webs are usually well designed since one company does them all and fits YOUR name into YOUR site.
They think they have a clever way to prevent you from copying their web? Well, they don't. Here is some material from one of the standard pages where you learn that you will have "your own" web site. This is baloney. I work hard at building a web site, and have 20,000 pages. I have many dozens of top 10 listings for various subjects when you enter those key words into a search engine. For Seasilver one web has zero advantage over another -- so the suckers pay for a top listing.
It does them no good.
Note: This website replication program is in no way affiliated with Seasilver Corp. It is solely the creation of Max Health (independent sales representative).
You can be a Seasilver distributor and own this site in minutes! Or if you are already a distributor with the independent Max Health organization, you can own this site! There is NO MONTHLY FEE, and you don't have to maintain it, or pay an ISP to host it!! Your site will be just like this one, only personalized for you. You don't even have to process the orders! This will be done for you, and you will get the credit! All you have to do is promote your site. You will have your own domain name (yourname.seasilverhealth.com)! And it's all FREE! (source)
The parent company will usually get some "personality" and that personality will make outlandish claims. Many people don't fall for the foolishness, but some do.
They sign up, pay fees for the "free web site" and go broke. The "free web site," of course, does have fees connected with it. Normally when I want to copy some text from a page I use a simple method. That method gets me an error message for this page. They are trying to be funny and pretend that their material cannot be copied. That is not true. All you need to do is use a different copying method. So, here is one of their claims:
Seasilver is a 100% whole food (plant based) nutritional supplement with proprietary ingredients and proprietary processing techniques. Seasilver works in perfect harmony with mother nature by observing all her laws, guaranteeing all nutrients will be absorbed at the cellular level. Seasilver is by design a complete Foundational Health program. (source)
Strangely enough you can find a list of the ingredients, but not the quantities of any of them. A bag full of weeds would have the same list as Seasilver. It is a common action for fraudulent MLMs to tell you the ingredients, but not the amount. The list is here.
Ah! They have Proprietary ingredients. That simply means you can't compare what is in this bottle with anything else. This is not unusual for MLMs. They often make you into suckers by creating a big mystery about the product.
(The actual list of ingredients is HERE -- but they will never admit to the quantity of any of these nutrients -- because they are so trivial as to be a laugh.]
The claim that "all nutrients will be absorbed at the cellular level?" That is a crazy claim and has no meaning.
Are they saying that Nutrient A (not identified) in the liquid, moves through the stomach without being digested, as all foods are digested, and then passes through the intestinal wall (as many substances are not) and then is "transported" in the blood stream (which doesn't always happen) to some "CELL?" What cell? Then, are they saying that this Nutrient A, and all the other nutrients move through this process successfully?
Then, there is that nutrient at the outside of the cell --- doubtful. But, the next claim is that ALL these nutrients are absorbed at the cellular level. Does that mean that this Nutrient A, having gone through the process, is 100% absorbed into the Cell? (What cell?) What if that cell doesn't need or use that nutrient?
The whole thing is a fraud and deception. Even as I write this, I know that some of my readers will be so angry at me that they will never return to my web site. I tell you how it is, not what you want to believe.
Then they say:
What is Seasilver's Foundational Health Program?
The combination of ingredients in Seasilver creates a complete Foundational Health Program. Seasilver is designed to BALANCE your body chemistry, CLEANSE your vital organs, PURIFY your blood and lymphatic system, NOURISH your body at the cellular level, OXYGENATE your bodie's cells, PROTECT your tissues and cells against toxins and STRENGTHEN your immune system (source)
More junk science!
Many MLMs do the same as this deceptive one. They use the big buzz words, but they use them in a way that has zero meaning.
What do they mean by "balance" your body chemistry? That is a meaningless term.
What do they mean by "cleanse" your vital organs? That is a meaningless term.
What do they mean by "purify" your blood? That is a meaningless term.
What do they mean by "purify" your lymphatic system? That is a meaningless term.
What do they mean by "nourish" your body at the celllar level? That is a meaningless term.
What do they mean to "oxgenate" your body's cells? That is a meaningless term.
What do they mean to "protect" your tissues and cells against toxins? That is a meaningless term.
What do they mean to "sternghten" your immune system? That is a meaningless term.
This is a common sucker trap.
I could say, "My pill makes you live to be 500 years old!" You know that is not true.
But, if my claim is mysterious enough, and uses the buzz words, and carefully does NOT make any claim that can be checked scientifically, millions of people fall into the trap.
But, then, they have testimonials, I'm sure. I have not looked, yet, but they all have them. Some of them might even be honest and valid. Why? Because at least 25% of people who take the "green sugar pill" will report, with great seriousness, that they are feeling better. The percentage goes up when they think that if YOU buy the green sugar pill then their income will go up. It is all fraud. The world is full of them. The internet is full of them.
I could stop right now and the more honest people, the thoughtful ones, would sheepishly turn away and pretend they were never interested. But, let's look further.

Can you believe that they have "hundreds ready to be placed under you NOW!" That is too stupid to believe. But, they have some fancy trick with language so that, somehow, they can say this with a straight face. It is not to be believed, except by suckers.
Matrix Aloe Vera is a proprietary nutritional organic whole food that brings botanical based nutrition into the new millennium. Traditionally, worldwide there is about 20,000 acres of Aloe Vera fields, and it takes about 2-4 years to grow 2lb. leaves. Seasilver, with it's proprietary farming technique, is growing 5-6 lb. leaves in 10-12 months, with nutritional composition test results showing as much as 10 times the nutritional values, while maintaining nature's perfect balance. Starting with our proprietary farming techniques, utilizing organic sea vegetation and microorganisms for fertilization, adding our proprietary cold processing technique, along with our proprietary Sonic Energizing Application (SEA), we can guarantee reduced surface tension below 58 dynes (typical aloe vera surface tension: 76-78 dynes) for three years. This provides better permeability, assuring 95-98% absorption at the cellular level of all nutrients, along with an increase of 40% in oxygen molecule intensity. Matrix Aloe Vera is safe and non-toxic.
Beneficial
Properties of Matrix Aloe Vera
Matrix Aloe Vera has been determined to contain substantial amounts of over 39 essential vitamins and minerals, and all 23 amino acids. In fact, out of over 150,000 botanicals, aloe vera is the only plant that contains this many nutrients that are essential to life's existence.
By analyzing air bubbles trapped in fossils, scientists have recently proven that the earth's atmosphere used to have 40% oxygen. By comparison, today's air only contains 16-19% oxygen. This is one half of what your body was designed for! Even more startling, analysis of air in different parts of the world shows that this number is continuing to decline and many large cities now have oxygen levels as low as 12%. Medical researchers say that if it falls below 7%, the human race will perish.
In 1905, virtually no one had cancer. The oxygen at that time has been estimated to have been at 30%. In the 1940's, the oxygen in the atmosphere measured 25%, and one out of twenty Americans had cancer.
Today one third of Americans now have cancer and within the next 5 years it has been estimated that half of the American population will have some form of cancer. There appears to be a clear relevance with the decrease of atmospheric oxygen and the increase in cancer.
Scientific Study
James D. Aker, Director of the 120+ Research Group, Bland, Virginia.
"On October 29, 1996, I ran 2 element composition profiles on an Atomic Mass Spectrometer. Seasilver sample A, marked untreated and Seasilver sample B, marked treated with SEA (Sonic Engineering Application), treatment time 10 minutes. To my amazement, Seasilver sample B, treated with the SEA had a 40% increase in oxygen. I re-ran the test one more time, both under proper double blind protocols, with the same results. I've never seen anything like this in all my years of testing!"
Scientific Findings
Dr. Steven Levine, World-Renowned Molecular Biologist reports in "Antioxidant Adaptations"
"It's role in Free Radical Pathology, 1985, Hypoxia, or lack of oxygen in the tissues, is the fundamental cause for all degenerative diseases."
Dr. Otto Warburg, twice Nobel Laureate, was awarded the Nobel Prize in 1931 for discovering the cause of cancer.
"The growth of cancer cells is initiated by a relative lack of oxygen. Cancer can not live in an oxygen rich environment. (source)
Here is more hype but not an ounce of substance.
They use more buzz words. They imply that their stuff will cure cancer.
Here is the stuff about capsules, tablets and their superior form.
Oral absorption occurs when micro-sized beads or droplets of a drug or nutrient are taken into the body through the mouth or nose tissue. Blood capillaries are extremely close to the surface in these areas and readily absorb the nutrients (or medicine) into the blood stream. The flow is from the area of the mouth to the carotid artery and through the heart in seconds. Upon leaving the heart, the nutrient (or medicine) is dispensed throughout the body.
Nutritional drinks offer a 98% absorption rate because they by-pass the digestive system- and the nutrient goes directly into the blood stream, as described. The Physician's Desk Reference shows that vitamins and minerals in a pill form are only 10-20% absorbed by the body. Because of this lack of nutrients, other companies must use mega doses of nutrients and this can cause a taxation on the kidneys. manufacturers also avoid nutrients in liquid form due to the taste factor. However, Seasilver has now made a great-tasting cranberry-flavored nutrient, that you don't even have to refrigerate! It has a shelf-life of 18 months.
Oral absorption is now the preferred choice of medical experts for the administration of nutrients (and medicine). Tests from Massachusetts General Hospital have shown higher blood concentrations of insulin by oral liquid application. Nitroglycerin is administered by mouth for heart patients...had the tablet been swallowed, the heart wouldn't have been affected. Even injections take 30 minutes longer to reach the same blood levels as oral absorption.
Not only for convenience and higher absorption levels, liquid nutrients now offer persons with irritable bowel syndrome, hiatal hernia, and diverticulitis an opportunity to take nutrients, when in the past, their conditions may have warranted that they not take irritating pills or capsules.
Do you want to be bothered by taking a handful of pills--when you can drink 1-2 oz of Seasilver a day and get 98% of your vitamins and minerals working for you?
Well, there is an interesting graph.
Let's see if the PRD actually says this somewhere. I note that this web makes the claim of the PRD, but no specific page or other reference. (The page? I found a reference in another, different claim, similar.)
Looking elsewhere, I assumed I would find the same data on any other web that sold stuff in a liquid form, and I found it.
The Physician's
Desk Reference (page 1542) shows that
vitamins and minerals in a pill form are only 10
to 20% absorbed by the body.

That means for every $100 you are spending on nutrients, you are literally flushing about $90 of it down the toilet. Because of this lack of absorption, companies must use mega doses of nutrients and this can cause a taxation on the kidneys (source)
Of course you would not expect to find that exact reference in a search engine, and I did not. I found, instead, using Google:
Your search - physicians desk reference 1542 - did not match any documents.
It happens that I own a copy of the Physician's Desk Reference. It's at my other office, so I'll get it back here and report to you more on this.
I have now looked at my copy. There is no such chart on page 1542 of Edition Number 53 of the PDR.
I have then looked all through my copy and could not find such a chart. I can guess, unless they are lying completely, that some drug company, selling a liquid form of their drug, made the claim, as part of their commercial claims, that their liquid was this much better than pills. A claim by some drug company, included as part of their insertion in the PDR, would be a deceptive source for the information as presented by Sea Silver.
The PDR does NOT contain "articles" but only pages and pages of stuff put there for specific drugs.
It would be enough for me to denounce them as complete frauds -- to either invent data, not in existence where they say it is, or to mislead viewers as to where the chart actually came from.
I would never deal with any company that uses such deception.
Next I take up one of my favorite complaints -- MLMs. MLM stands for "multi level marketing" company.
Amway is perhaps one of the most famous.
I am not going to try to "prove" these comments about the MLM industry, just assert them as truth.
Most people get into some MLM because they think they will get rich, quick, easy. It doesn't happen.
Here is an example -- not Seasilver, but one of the other many, very many, frauds on the net:
This Program is EXPLODING !!!! When I joined on Sept. 17th there were 6,800 members. We're over 20,500 now, 28 days later, and growing at a pace of over 700 new members a day. Also, in my first 28 days I've earned $ 10,475.00:
That's $9850.00 in commissions and $625 in FREE Gas!! And it's only 2pm EST at this writing.
I am not telling you this to impress you - but to impress upon you the unlimited potential you have with this program if you just jump in and get to work; and take advantage of our VERY DUPLICATIBLE Systems! We have people from all walks of life in our group. From college students to retired folks; Single Moms and stay-at-home Moms, to nurses and airline pilots, school teachers, and a whole bunch of SUPER PEOPLE. A GREAT mix of REAL NICE people - all like-minded with the same kind of GOALS, DREAMS, and DESIRES! The sky's the limit with OUR GROUP !!

If you have any sense at all you know that the statements in this indented text are pure lies.
If you try to remove yourself from their list you will simply validate that your eMail address is working and they will then be able to sell your name for at least $0.25 each.
Even the "click below" address is one of those hidden web sites that will be around for only a few days, to get your address or money and then disappear. I don't know what type of fraud this is. It may be nothing other than an effort to get working eMail addresses, with names and phone numbers. Such a name, when checked for validity, is probably worth about $0.50 each to the spammers. So, there may well not be an actual MLM here.

I get hundreds of Spam messages every week. Many of them are these frauds. It is messages like these that give legitimate internet business a bad name.
If you take your time spent, and the earnings, more than 90% of the people who get into any MLM wind up earning less than $5.00 per hour for their time.
A very, very few people make a lot of money. A slightly larger number will make good money for a short time, and brag about it before they fade away and quit. Even those who make very large amounts of money seldom do that for very long.
So, don't think you will be rich.
The profit margins on these MLMs have to be extremely high to allow the company to pay all the commissions to distributors. Click here for an explanation of how Amway charges about $7,500 per kilogram for their fancy "natural" Vitamin C. (Actually, they make you think you are getting "natural Vitamin C" but the capsule contains a tiny, tiny amount of so-called "natural" vitamin C and the great bulk of the contents are simple artificial ascorbic acid.
MLM companies cannot possibly sell anything you could find in a store because their profit margin must be so high that the selling price would be so much higher than the store that they would never sell.
So, the only way an MLM can sell something is to claim that it is unique -- that you cannot find it anywhere else. Often this is true, and then if you want that unique product you will have to pay those very high prices for it.
But, usually the MLM company will have one or two truly unique products and then a large number of other products that are NOT different, but they make them sound different with deceptive advertising.
Generally it is safe to conclude, with very little research, that any product being sold by any MLM is far over-priced and probably promoted in a deceptive way.
Seasilver fits these criteria well.
When you look at the raw materials for this product you should realize they are dirt-cheap, but they are described as "secret" or "proprietary." These are the common claims for MLM products. So, you can't compare the prices. They sell one bottle for $50, but you won't find anything you can compare. Then they make exaggerated claims and there will also be fake testimonials. You pay $50 for the bottle.
Many people "feel better" even if they drink flavored water, so it is easy to get testimonials that sound sincere.
Don't fall for Seasilver, and don't fall for any MLM unless there is some very specific product, very unique, that you really want
Karl Loren
This MLM, like most that are frauds, uses words deliberately that do not have meanings -- you "go past" a word like this, when there IS no definition, and you will find that you become a bit blank, and the next part of the sentence will be missing in your memory. Then you are prone to accept whatever follows as truth -- because you were confused (generally without feeling the confusion) and accept what is give you. The lies follow, and you buy the stuff.
I have researched into this phenomenon deeply, and written an article on what has happened to American Education -- Click Here.
It is often true with this type of fraud that those who get caught are still convinced they are into a good thing. They get angry for you at showing the truth.
Here is an angry sucker:

Dear Karl,
I suspect YOU are the mastermind behind "psychobabble" - you do it SO WELL! But your cynical views and teachings are even worse! Apparently you have been burnt by some MLM' s and so now they are ALL frauds??
I don't know why I even thought I could converse with you on any intelligent level - you can't even justify your claims logically.
I really feel sorry for you - and for those who listen to you. You have only encouraged me to continue using Seasilver because I know it works and love to be able to prove you WRONG!
On the very off chance you are really a PR person for the Seasilver company and playing "devil's advocate" just to make people like me want to prove you wrong by continuing to buy it, well done! Its not necessary, though, because the proof is in the bottle.
Lisa
Dear Lisa,
Thanks for your comments. I'm glad to publish them.
Karl Loren
Seasilver promotion is heavily filled with psychobabble. This is an important word for you to understand. If you DO understand it, and are able to detect it, you will easily be able to detect commercial frauds of all kinds.
Psychobabble is the deliberate use of words that, themselves, have meanings, but where the meanings of those words do NOT fit within the context of the text.
For instance, you know the meaning of the word "balance" as used in a weighing scale -- a device that shows that the weight on one side is the same as the weight on the other side -- the two weights "balance." You also know, generally, what your "body" is.
But you can't possibly know what it means to "balance the body" since there is no accepted medical or scientific definition of "balance" when used in reference to "body." Thus, "balance the body" is a phrase that cannot have any useful meaning -- it is psychobabble.
It is a phrase that is used deliberately to trick you into thinking that this SeaSilver is doing something "good" for you. It may do some good? It may not! But, certainly the claim that Seasilver balances the body is a deceptive phrase -- psychobabble.
This entire phrase, copied from the ad, just below, means absolutely zip! It is psychobabble.
One Ounce a Day Balances, Cleans, Purifies, Nourishes, Oxygenates, Protects and Strengthens Your Body At The Cellular Level!
Here is another of the very many examples of psychobabble:
Quickly bathe your cells in pure, natural, organic nutritionals.
The word "bathe" would normally be understood as "bathing a child, in a tub, for instance. There is no way by which Seasilver can pass from your stomach into the body without being "digested." The process of digestion changes any food into very simple components -- sugars, fats, proteins -- with some vitamins and minerals thrown in. These components are no longer in any connected form -- they are each separate from the other. There is NO substance that can pass, whole, through the intestine, and then "bathe" anything inside the body. This is pure psychobabble.
There is so much of that here that you know that the promoters are trying to trick you -- and there are apparently many who are becoming suckers for this stuff.
Don't you become a sucker!
