Dear Karl Loren,
I've been one of your admirers for years. More than 10 years ago I read your articles in a national newspaper and you were saying, then, truly outrageous things about drugs and drug companies.
I happened to agree with you, but I found practically no one else, and certainly no main-stream media that was putting out information like you were. I felt then that you and I were lonely voices in the wilderness!
As the years have gone by more and more of the truth about the deadly effect of use of medical drugs is coming out.
I commend you for your vision, 10 years ago, and congratulate you for being so much ahead of your time.

Isn't it fascinating that today, as I write this on April 15, 1998,. all over America, usually on the front page of the local newspaper, there is this fascinating article about how a new study, published in the authoritative Journal Of The American Medical Association, says that about 100,000 people die, in hospitals, from adverse reactions to drugs that had been prescribed for them.
These are NOT mistakes in administration, or illegal drugs. No, these are the common, garden variety of people who blindly take the pills recommended by their doctors, get sick, go into the hospital, get even more drugs, prescribed by some doctor, and DIE!
They die of medical indifference and ignorance. More importantly, the true cause of their death never appears on the death certificate.
It's about time to read one of those nationally prominent stories. I've chosen the Wall Street Journal's coverage of this story because they have, perhaps, the best reputation of accuracy for any national newspaper. They are NOT out to sensationalize the news, and they even have many drug companies who support that paper with advertising. So, when the WSJ carries the story, it's certainly hit the main-stream, and it is not "fringe" reporting.

It isn't just the 100,000 people who were killed by adverse prescription drug reactions, it is the more than 1,000,000 OTHERS, according tot he study, who suffered severe illness and prolonged stays in the hospitals because of these prescription drugs.
And, the study did NOT treat the number of people who were sick, or who lived shorter lives, because they only got sick at home!
As I predicted 10 years ago, it is now happening, I now predict that within 10 years the so-called "ethical" drug industry will be basically out of business as we know it.
These large drug companies have committed to many hidden crimes -- they will start to be uncovered and their stockholders will lose money. Their executives will find it difficult to get employment anywhere else.
Employees will be ashamed for having worked at one of these companies. (Those who have worked for the IRS will have more shame, but the former drug company employees will come in a close second.)
If you know anyone who works at one of these drug companies, tell him or her that he is to be ashamed for working for such unethical people -- he should quit now before he is even more tainted with the muck of that industry.
