A Simple Urine Test For Heavy Metal

The Heavy Metal Test allows us to determine the presence of inorganic, ionic and free radical producing transition metals (copper, zinc, iron, lead, mercury, cadmium etc.) in our environment and in our own body.
At the same time the test also assesses the 'chelation ability' of a person from a small urine sample (i.e. how well someone copes with 'environmental' metals) .
The Heavy Metal Test is very simple, fast and inexpensive.

1.The Heavy Metal Test System (HMTS) for the health practitioner which allows for 120 tests, the determination of pH and the adjustment of the pH for accurate results.
2. The Heavy Metal Test Kits (HMTK) for 15 tests. It is easy to test garden soil, paint on walls, dust in carpets and on window sills, tap or tank water and many other potential sources of ionic heavy metals (lead, mercury, copper, zinc, cadmium, arsenic and so on).
The test is based on the oldest chemical method for the detection of transition metals - the Dithizone System. It has been evaluated by the Department of Chemistry, University of Newcastle, Australia.

A product in homoeopathic dilution which assists the body in its attempt to neutralize ionic Heavy Metals and to therefore reduce Free Radical production. The product was developed to treat the root cause of free radical associated diseases (i.e. chronic diseases), not just symptoms. CH -7 was clinically evaluated in Germany.

Note: ALL ionic metals (environmental or unchelated from aluminium to lead) can cause a millionfold increase in the production of Free Radicals. Antioxidants do not eliminate ionic metals from the body.

pH BALANCER
Unfortunately we are caught up in a complex and complicated material world and as an expression of that our approaches to health and healing are complex and complicated as well. We quickly forget that 'the simple things in life are often the best'. There are a couple of basic parameters which are essential for good health. Proper tissue pH certainly belongs to those. According to Dr. O Bergsmann, MD (Germany) the tissue pH must be approx. between 7.35 and 7.44. It is generally understood that you cannot be healthy if your pH is out of that range.
We relate a tissue pH of 7.35 and 7.44 to a urine pH of approx. 6.8 to 7.2. Our research has shown that people with heart problems, for example, are often 100 times more acid than they should be. Remember that acid systems promote Free Radicals and reduce the availability of oxygen. Acid systems provide the 'opportunity' for opportunistic organisms to get a foothold in our system - bit like a swimming pool where the water is out of balance. If the water is properly balanced and sanitized the water is beautifully clear and clean and 'opportunistic oarganims' such as algea, bacteria etc. will be unable to proliferate.
The pH balancer consists of a 5 meter long roll of'Narrow Band pH Indicator' and an Alkalizer the effectiveness of which can be measured within approx. 20 minutes by means of the pH indicator paper.
Proper tissue pH is an important foundation of a healthy body.

Certainly, every health practitioner and many lay people reading this article are fully aware of the devastating influence heavy metals and/or ionic metals can have on our mental, emotional and physical health and wellbeing.

Until recently, most health care professionals and researchers assumed that heavy metals had to be taken into account only once a patient showed definite symptoms of 'poisoning'. Today we realise that the level at which our health and wellbeing is affected by heavy metals may be much lower than previously assumed. Health authorities constantly correct 'permissible' maximum levels downwards.

When we look at some of the evidence coming in, it seems certain that we have not heard the final word yet. The final word which may be that heavy metals in their ionic form have no place at all in our bodies.

For us it was high time to develop a test system which would allow us to estimate levels of ionic metals being present in a person and helping that person to overcome the problems associated with their presence. CH-7 (a homoeopathic preparation) and the Heavy Metal Test are the result of our effort since 1988.

Dozens of books are available and hundreds of scientific articles have been published on the topic of ionic or environmental metals. The mass media are alerting the general public to the dangers of environmental heavy metals. The question therefore cannot be any more whether or not heavy metals could be a health hazard, but rather why did we never take them into consideration when faced with severe health problems? The answer to that is simple.

So far, it was very costly and time consuming to test for heavy metals. This could be done only in laboratories and with expensive equipment.

We should be aware that there are two basically different types of metals from a health point of view.

The first type is the organic metal, which we take into our bodies through food, and which is needed for keeping the system functioning properly. These metals are electrically neutral, chelated by amino acids, for example, and the body can use whatever it needs and eliminates what is doesn't.

The other type is the inorganic type consisting of electrically active or charged metal ions. This is the type of metal which must concern us. Unless the body can 'bind' these metals, make them electrically neutral, it cannot utilize and often not even eliminate them.

These metals then cause havoc in the electromagnetic field of a biological system which determines all life processes (Prof. W. Ludwig, Dr. F. Popp et al.) and build up to levels which are causing severe health problems which are evident in lowered IQ (lead) emotional instability (mercury) etc.

It is well known that electrically active heavy metal ions will increase the development of free radicals a millionfold.

With the tests available so far we did not differentiate between electrically active or neutral metals. The various laboratory techniques used (atomic absorption spectro photometry, electron stripping, etc.) are not suited for this purpose. Blood tests and other tests typically employ methods which make it necessary to destroy the organic component (amino acids) of a metal. Therefore we have no idea whether or not the metals present are electrically neutral or active and, if they are active (i.e. environmental), how the system copes with them.

Numerous scientists world wide are supporting the view today that all life processes are being determined by subtle electromagnetic and photon phenomena [see Prof. Dr. A. Popp,, Dr. Voll (EAP), Dr. Dr. Schimmel (Vega System) and many more).

All electrically active metals (ions) and especially so heavy metals can disturb the harmony of the electromagnetic and photon energies in our body, causing disharmony and disease. They also can increase the production of free radicals a millionfold.

It has been stated that 90 % of all chronic and serious illnesses could be prevented if we were able to eliminate the 600 most dangerous environmental toxins (Dr. J. Higgensen, Head of Cancer Research, WHO, Geneva, Switzerland).

There is no argument amongst scientists and laymen alike that metals in their ionic form and especially so heavy metals accumulating in the body can become a deadly health hazard. One of the orst perpetrators is iron. A metal we cannot live without - BUT if the human body cannot 'handle' iron (in the case of hemochromatosis or iron overload disease) the huge increase of free radicals will certainly lead to death if not treated.

To be able to control the impact of the environmental pollution on our emotional, mental and physical wellbeing will be paramount for the survival of mankind.

With the HEAVY METAL TEST SYSTEM (HMTS) for health professionals and pharmacists and the HEAVY METAL TEST KIT (HMTK) for the general public, we can test our environment for the presence of metal ions and also determine how our body copes with them.

For the latter purpose we use a urine sample. In such a urine test only electrically active metals, i.e. inorganic metals show up. If the test is positive, we know that the system suffers from an environmental metal overload and that the system cannot cope with ionic metals. Be aware that food may be heavily contaminated with heavy metals as well, e.g. if fruit and vegetables are grown close to a busy road they may be contaminated with lead, cadmium, etc.

Lead from car exhausts, industrial plants, paint, ceramic, dinner ware, wine glasses, etc.

Zinc from water pipes, water tanks, water collected from roofs, paints, industry.

We should be aware of the fact that we can take inorganic metals into our body in a number of ways: through eating and drinking, breathing and through our skin (bathing for example).

If we want to survive in our polluted environment we will have to make sure that inorganic metals do not accumulate in our body, but that we can chelate and electromagnetically neutralize them. We need a means of evaluating and monitoring the way in which the body copes with environmental, ionic, electromagnetically active and free radical producing metals.The HEAVY METAL TEST SYSTEM is the only system of its kind which allows us to do exactly that.

It is well known today that environmental or ionic and electromagnetically active metals and especially heavy metals such as mercury, lead, copper, zinc, nickel, cadmium, etc. can increase the production of Free Radicals a millionfold(1,2).

Free Radicals are considered to be the root cause of all chronic diseases from rheumatism to diabetes, cardio-vascular diseases and cancer, AIDS and so on.

Free Radicals also promote the aging process through oxidation. Similar to the rusting of metals, the body slowly decays until it 'dies'.

Our body has the ability to 'switch off' certain oxidation processes through Antioxidants and hence limit the amount of damage. Because of ionic metals being present everywhere in our environment today (in the air we breathe, the water we drink, the food we eat, etc.) and because of other Free Radical producing pollutants, diets and lifestyle, our body is often fighting a losing battle. The amount of Free Radicals produced cannot be offset any more by the Antioxidants available. Even taking additional Antioxidants may not be sufficient to help the body control the damage done by excess Free Radicals.

What we realised was that nobody could tell the degree to which a body was affected by ionic, electromagnetically active and hence free radical producing metals. Hair analysis, atomic absorption spectro-photometric or electron stripping investigations allow us to estimate the overall metal burden, but do not allow us to determine how well or otherwise the body copes with environmental metals.
What we wanted to see was the amount of ionic heavy metals and/or transition metals present. Metals which the system could not 'chelate'. Which remained 'inorganic' (not bound to an organic molecule), where the system could not engage their outer electrons and which therefore were electromagnetically active, causing a millionfold increase in free radical production.

We developed the Heavy Metal Test System (HMTS )for this purpose. The system allows us to detect these 'undesirable', free radical producing, 'inorganic', ionic and electromagnetically active Metals only. It allows us therefore to 'see' how well or otherwise a person copes with environmental metals.

One day I went to a school in Argenton (near Newcastle, Australia) where Pasminco had contaminated the entire area with lead through their metal processing operation. The Health Department screen tested all the children for lead. When I spoke with the health officer we realised that he was at a total loss to explain why in one child the blood lead levels were so much higher than in another child living in the same environment and coming from a similar background. With the help of our Heavy Metal Test System we had realised long ago that different people have different 'chelation abilities'. Only if the body can chelate ionic metals can it prevent these metals from producing free radicals. Furthermore, as long as the metals are electromagnetically active they stick to our bodies like blotting paper to the glass rod and the system cannot get rid of these 'undesirable' metals.

Thanks to the insights made with the Heavy Metal Test System and the possibility it gave us to test patients for unchelated metals, we now could proceed to try and find a way to help the individual person to cope better with environmental heavy metals. The outcome of our search and research is CH-7.

CH-7 is a homoeopathic dilution which effectively assists and teaches the body to chelate ionic Heavy Metals and switch off their Free Radical producing activity. For some readers it may be interesting to hear that we used electronic equipment and vibrational comparison to formulate CH-7.

The efficacy of CH-7 can be proven with the Heavy Metal Test. If we observe a strong positive test result (colour of test turns from green to red, for example, indicating the presence of ionic heavy metals) and administer CH-7 over a period of time, say 2 weeks, a subsequent new test will show a reduction in colour, i.e. a reduction in the amount of ionic metals present.

But we did not simply rely on our own tests with the Heavy Metal Test System. We also had CH-7 clinically tested in Germany. Here are some of the results.

The study was untertaken by Prof. Dr. med. Dipl.chem. I. Maiwald, University of Wuerzburg, Germany and Labor fuer Umweltmedizin (Laboratory for Environmental Medicine) Dr. Leman, Hirschberg, Germany.

Procedure: 2 bottles of CH-7 taken over a period of 6 weeks (daily dosage: 3 times 20 drops).

Analysis: In all cases Hg (mercury), Cd (cadmium),Pb (lead) values were reduced to below the maximum permissable level.

In 30% of cases Cu (copper) increased slightly in the blood serum. Values remained however within standards.

In 25% of cases Zn (zinc) increased, but it too remained within standards.
(This is an interesting observation ! Since CH-7 'teaches' the body how to 'chelate' metals, the body will retain what it needs and get rid of what it does not.
One day a health practitioner rang from New Zealand asking: 'How come that a zinc assay test shows a zinc deviciency and yet when I do a Heavy Metal Test it shows lots of zin ??' By now you may have guessed already - the zinc was in the 'wrong' form obviously. It was not 'chelated' and the body could not emply it purposefully).

Minerals such as Ca,Mg,Na, and Se were not affected by the above therapy. They remained within standard values.

Like any homoeopathic solution, CH-7 can induce a healing crisis which can take a number of expressions: light headedness, sick feeling in the stomach, flushes etc. Lasting side effects are not known in the case of homoeopathic remedies, which makes them superior to medical drugs and is in line with the thoughts of the 'father' of modern medicine, Hippocrates.

Presumably the urine will show "some" presence of metal in the body, prior to chelation. But, the studies I have on my web, about oral EDTA, for instance, show that immediately after starting the oral EDTA the amount of metal in the urine can increase by as much as fifty times -- showing that the EDTA is doing the chelating that it is supposed to do.

Does your test detect metal in the urine prior to chelation?

Does your test show an increase of metal immediately after starting chelation? I assume it should, and if not, why?

Have you tested the efficacy of oral EDTA against your homeopathic chelating materials?

Are there different levels of test results from your testing procedure, depending on what chelating substance is used?

I have read much of your material, but not all.

Please answer these:

It is rather seldom (perhaps 5% of cases) that you will get a green return = no ionic metals present.

In most cases ionic metals will be present in smaller or larger amounts = test changes colour from green to pink, red etc.

NOW - unlike 'normal metal tests' (e.g. electron stripping, atomic absorption spectro photometry etc.) the HMT does NOT show chelated metals !!!! We know that it is ionic metals which increase the production of free radicals. If the test returns gree - we are safe - can you see ?? Of course it is not that simple but the test will always show if we are on the right track with our treatment !!

In a way the HMT is an opposite to the generally used methods.

Does your test detect metal in the urine prior to chelation?

Absolutely - and that is the whole point. At that point in time we can assertain whether a person can 'cope' with 'environmental metals (unchelated, ionic and free radical producing) or not !

If you 'chelate' a person the test should show the improvement (i.e. subsequent tests tend towards green ! Which means that the body is able to cope with the ionic metals and hence free radical production is reduced !).

Does your test show an increase of metal immediately after starting chelation? I assume it should, and if not, why?

Karl, this is the point ! The test will show a REDUCTION in the amount of ionic metals !! Please keep always in mind that the HMT shows IONIC metals ONLY !

Have you tested the efficacy of oral EDTA against your homeopathic chelating materials?

NO - but what I found is that there are so many 'mechanisms' involved - e.g. ability of the client to digest protein, tissue pH (which we ALWAYS measure as urine pH - acid systems 'trap' metals - in alkalyne systems the metals 'fall out'.), electro magnetic phenomena (electrolyte balance) and so on. CH-7 is addressing a number of these problems. That is why I never call CH-7 a 'chelation agent', but rather state that it 'teaches the body how to handle metals'. Please, please let us talk about this further until you can see exactly what I can see - this is the great danger with metals !! At the moment I am working with The Newcastle University and the largest Hospital in town (Prof. Robert Batey - gastro enterology and one of only two directors of a hemochromatosis clinic in Australia) to 'prove' that my remedy for hemochromatosis really works. NOW - according to statistics 1 in 22 to 1 in 400 Caucasian people will get hemochromatosis. Robert says it may be more like 1 in 20 --- because we do not SEE (as yet) the danger (free radical over production) of even smallest numbers of ionic metals (iron is believed to be the worst perpetrator).

Dear Karl - I do not worry much about 'competition'. If your product is better than mine I would be only too happy to promote it. On the other hand I am a dreamer with lead feet - I believe in 'proof'. No matter how much people promote a chelation agent - if the test does not show (after a while at least) that the number of ionic metals decrease (by the test tending more towards green) the chelation does not work. CH-7 does not always work !! There are a number of possible resasons.

I would have to consider whether and how I could help promote something which might detract from my own product sales.

Perhaps you could find a way to promote both. I could make CH-7 available to you as a concentrate (shipping etc.) very inexpensive. CH-7 has been clinically tested which can be an advantage - but also, both products could be used in conjunction. Perhaps your product works where mine does not and vice versa. We have observed in the past that ANY remedy seems to work better once people took CH-7. Please give all that some thought. My main aim is (from a spiritual point of view) to HELP people - irrespective of material gains.

Dear Karl, I have a similar policy. But I also realise that GOD is the greatest scientist and we can get information FIRST HAND -

There will NEVER be a scientist who can INVENT a new law. All the laws are there already - we merely become AWARE of them !

I then propose my own truth, generally always with much scientific support for it.

This is very similar to my approach

So, I feel very confident in my claims and statements -- based on science that is accepted and understood -- pointing out where I disagree, and showing support for my disagreement.

When I consider what you are saying I run into a problem.

Homeopathy?

There is no question that "something happens" with homeopathy.

Homoeopathy is scientifically supportabel - unfortunately most people do not know about the research. Prof. W. Heisenberg (of quantum fame had this to say: 'homoeopathy works because the energetic information of a remedy is liberated from its atomic confines by succassion and imprinted on the subatomic strata of the carrier substance' (normally water and alcohol).

Dr. Benveniste in France was austracised because of his findings - bur when a Scottish team of scientists tried to 'debunk' him they had to realise that he was right !!

However, I feel there is a large gap between accepted science and homeopathy -- thus I don't see it, yet, as a concept I can support vigorously on a promotional and educational basis. I do not, however, criticize it.

My very good friend in India, who created our Calm Cream, is a practicing homoeopathist, and I respect him greatly, but I still don't "{understand" it -- I accept it, but that is not the same as understanding it!

Homoeopathy works mainly on an energetic level. Please keep in mind that ll matter is but vibrating energy ! If I can 'manipulate' this energy I can influence the behaviour of matter per se.

It is somewhat like "muscle testing." I am sure you know about that?

I have lectured on it, demonstrated it, used it and had it used on me.

Yet, there is no connection between the subject of that with anything generally accepted in traditional science.

I agree - there can be soo many influences on the outcome of kineseological investigations. A bit like a pendulum. Since my background is strictly scientific/technological I had diggiculties with all that - but could use instruments (VEGA System, EVA, LISTEN etc.). In the Western World we believe in needles moving up and down a scale - but are sceptical about a pendulum swinging.

So, I view muscle testing as an interesting technology that seems to work, but for which there is yet no logical explanation, and I suspect that it fails to work often enough, possibly only because ot he operator, so that it isn't revealing new scientific data to us.

Now, the idea that a homeopathic substance can "remove" metal? Hard to understand.

Dear Karl, in Europe homoeopathy has been used for quite some time and is much more accepted and understood than in the 'NW World' which largely followed a money oriented 'drug therapy'. Homoeopathy is based on the idea that 'like cures like'. So someone suffereing frommercury poisoning you would give 'potentised' mercury to get rid of it. Perhaps it is somehow engaging the outer electrons and makes mercury 'electromagnetically neutral' so that it can be eliminated. FACT is that CH-7 was clinically tested in Germany and found to remove metals.

But, I guess you are actually only claiming that a homeopathic substance "changes" one form of metal into another -- so that it is no longer harmful??

YES - it helps the body (and there are a number of possible means) to 'get rid' of metals. For example, if a system is acid it tends to 'trap' metals. If you alkalise the metals tend to 'precipitate'. We found in New Zealand that just heating water which contains ionic metals makes them 'vanish', i.e. they are not detectable any more. Possibly by changing electron configurations. This is an easy to repeat experiment.

If you can come "down" to my level of "traditional science" and explain your concept (not the substances, but the higher level concept) I would appreciate it.

"Ionic metal" ? What is that?

Ionic metals are metals having a 'charge'. They are electrically charged like the blotting paper we picked up at school by means of a glass rod which we rubbed (making it electromagnetically active or giving it an electro static charge). These metals 'cling' to the body like the blotting paper to the glass rod. Can you see ? Furthermore because an ionic metal has unpaired electrons or en electron is missing, it 'grabs' that electron from another atom, breaking up molecular compounds and producing 'free radicals' in this way. The Enceclopedia Britannica states that one copper atom can 'catalyse' (break up) a million molecules. Produce an avalanche of free radicals. THAT is why ionic metals can be so dangerous.

Your test does not show "chelated metals" in the urine??

That is correct. Chelated metals are the 'good' guys. We wanted to see the 'bad guys'. None of the laboratory methods can do that. Now - interesting from our point of view is the fact that the Dithizone System is the OLDEST chemical method to detect ionic metals (some 75 years old) and still used today in many labs. It is still being considered the most accurate scientific method for the detection of ionic metals.

These are strange concepts to me and I am ready for some basic educational data.
